COTE MER was founded in 2008 after designer Norio Sato went on a trip to California in 1998 to learn about vintage jeans and surfing. The designs/items inspired by vintage jeans have received a great response and are currently attracting attention, including participation in the Tokyo Collection and creating costumes for artists.
